The Board of Trustees of the Westwood Schools in Camilla announced Thursday that Kevin Cloud has been named Headmaster for the 2018-2019 school year. Mr. Cloud will begin his duties on June 1, 2018.
Mr. Cloud is a native of Albany, GA and has served as an administrator, teacher and coach in independent education for 21 years. Most recently he has served as the Associate Headmaster at George Walton Academy in Monroe, GA.
His resume includes positions at Deerfield-Windsor, Augusta Preparatory Day School and Sherwood Christian.
Mr. Cloud holds degrees from Valdosta State University, Baylor University and a M. Ed. In Administration and Supervision from Liberty University.
Board Chairman Laura Beth Tucker announced that a Search Committee comprised of parents, retired teachers, community leaders and board members conducted an extensive search and narrowed the field of 17 qualified candidates to interview the top three candidates. “Mr. Cloud received the unanimous recommendation from the Search Committee to the Board of Trustees to extend an offer to him based upon his outstanding performance in independent school administration. He is an experienced administrator who has a record of developing a team of engaged and qualified faculty and fostering a positive educational and social environment for students. His experience and commitment to educational leadership will be an asset to Westwood in providing a high quality, college preparatory education for our students.”
